Films: Warlords of Atlantis (1978)
Alias: Plesiosaur, the Sentinel, Mogdaan, Zaargs, deep-sea piranha
Type: Alien (Atlantians), Natural (the rest)
Location: Ocean
Height/Weight: Ranges from that of a cod to that of a large ship.
Affiliation: Neutral
Summary: Atlantis remains an incredible enigma. An entire city at the bottom of the ocean that may or may not persist. Well it does, and it's not a city, but rather a whole country. A country populated by aliens and sea monsters.
History: Indeed, the Atlantians are Martian in origin, and they came to Earth to live beyond human sight, yet they still played a part in the human race's history through influence and inspiration. Three out of seven Atlantian cities are uninhabitable, and many areas are assaulted frequently by the turtle-like Zaargs. But the greatest asset of the Atlantians is the Sentinel, a gigantic octopus that either brings intruders to the city, or kills them for their misdeeds.
Notable Kills: See Final Fate.
Final Fate: The plesiosaur is held back by an electric cable, the Mogdaan is driven off after being shot a bit, and the Sentinel kills the thieves that took Atlantis' gold by bashing them with the statue they took and wrecking their ship.
Powers/Abilities: None
Weakness: Anything conventional.
Scariness Factor: 3-In typical Doug McClure monster film fashion, ther'es a strange cheap charm to these creatures. A particular stand-out is the Mogdaan, the ferocious fish-sea worm.
Trivia: -Most of the footage was taken via Gozo Island, a part of the Maltese archipelago.
-This film is also known as "Warlords of the Deep".
